ABOUT THE FILM
Persecuted by myths and prejudices, people with albinism who live in Tanzania fear for their lives.
On Ukerewe Island, a small and remote island, these people can live relatively safe.
Lina’s baby Nixon had to fear for his life, because of his albinism and his father who was a believer in the myths surrounding people with albinism. But when disaster strikes, baby Nixon has to continue without the protection of his mother…

DIRECTOR'S NOTE
"As a filmmaker I’m always looking for stories that get under your skin. The story that the more you work on it, the more it manifests within you. To a point where it’s the only thing you can think about.
From the moment I first heard about this island, it immediately caught my interest. And from the moment I first set foot on Ukerewe Island and met its inhabitants, I knew this was something special and it hasn’t let me go since.
From that point onward I gave this story (with the support of REF FM Foundation and a group of incredible dedicated crew) the dedication and integrity that I feel it deserves. During our second visit the story took an unexpected turn, which resulted in a story about rejection, love and hope that I hope will inspire people from all over the world."
